A - Avada Kedavra
This is the spell that Voldemort used on Harry. It is one of three unforgivable curses: Crucio (torture), Imperius (physical control through the mind), and Avada Kedara (death). Harry Potter is the only known wizard to have experienced all three curses and lived. He survived the Cruciatus and Killing curses at least twice and, as far as we know, the Imperius curse once. The curse is well known for the flash of green light that accompanies it out of the killer’s wand. Use of this curse will give the wizard or witch a lifetime sentence in Azkaban, though it is used many times without consequence in Harry’s lifetime. This is also the only one of the three unforgivable curses Harry never uses.
